There are many ways to kick-start one's career, but for young professionals, gaining experience in a field you are passionate about in the right place can make all the difference. Our Young Talents program at All for One aims to provide such opportunities to young professionals, offering them a chance to be part of our open and modern work culture while gaining valuable experience. When it’s a perfect match, we have the pleasure of welcoming our Young Talents as full-time employees after their program ends.
This process involves several steps and considerations. Who better to share their insights into this journey than two of our colleagues, Markus Miska and Pascal Eggert? They will share their experiences from starting as apprentices in the HR department to becoming integral parts of our organization. Join us as we delve into their stories, exploring the challenges they faced, the skills they acquired, and the vibrant company culture that has fostered their development and success.
FIRST, iNTRODUCTIONS
Can you tell us a bit about yourselves?
Markus Miska: Hello there, my name is Markus Miska and am a part of the All for One Group since September 2022. I started work as an apprentice in the HR department and got well accustomed to my job because of the great HR Team and many learning opportunities.
Pascal Eggert: Hello, my name is Pascal. I am 23 years old and come from Stuttgart. In January 2024, I successfully completed my apprenticeship as an office management clerk at All for One Group SE.
How did you first hear about the apprenticeship program?
MM: I saw it in an online forum and thought of the All for One as a good partner for an apprenticeship. After that, I looked around a bit more and found their Instagram and All for One Gaming. It intrigued me so much that I directly wrote my application.
PE: Through my temporary work, I came to the topic of the apprenticeship program at All for One during a conversation with my boss.
eXPERIENCES AND LESSONS LEARNED
I can imagine every apprenticeship program has its unique qualities depending on the team, department and even the position itself, what was the apprenticeship program like for you?
MM: It was a lot of ups and just a few downs. One of the biggest "up" was always going to the team events. We had so many fun moments on these days. I have met and connected to a lot of people that I otherwise only saw through the screen, so it was like reconnecting after a long time, as it was after the pandemic. And to the little downs there's me dancing too much at an afterparty of an event and I dislocated my ankle.
PE: It was a very demanding, educational but above all a very nice time. I had the opportunity to get to know many facets of a growing company.
What were some of the most valuable skills or knowledge you gained during the course of your apprenticeship?
MM: There were many people who imparted their skills and wisdom to me. At the start, next to my Instructor, I could use our internal learning Platform, in which I found Workshops, Seminars and Online trainings for all topics of the All for One and even more. And I even had a Mentor, that guided me through my apprenticeship and helped me not only as a Guiding figure but also help me with personal problems, which I didn´t want to talk with others about.
PE: First and foremost, I have evolved as a human. Of course, the technical part did not fall too short from that, due to the great trust that was shown I was able to apply my acquired expertise directly in practice and deepen it through "learning by doing". Of course, there were also days when things didn’t go so well, either because of lack of motivation or because of a topic I couldn’t get so excited about. That quickly showed me that there will always be something less enjoyable, but that’s part of it. But in my opinion, you get through this relatively well if you realize that this is part of the journey to the destination. At the end of the day, you learn something from every situation or challenge.

Company Culture - What brings you to all for one?
What was it about All for One that made you want to pursue this apprenticeship, and eventually full time employment?
MM: The main point that led me to All for One was the warm welcome and the very present way one of our company values “Respectful Communication” was lived. I think it is great to work not against one another but rather as a team, that pushes each other forward and helps one another in times of need, instead “fighting” their colleagues, lost in competition. And that’s also one of the reasons why I´m at the All for One to date.
PE: The flat hierarchy and the "you-culture" as well as the opportunity to actively participate as an apprentice convinced me. For my full-time employment, my gut feeling, and the existing confidence between me and my team have been enough.
Were there any benefits that you made the most use of during your training?
MM: There were 2 benefits, the first was the weekly order of fruit in our office in Dortmund. And the second was the flexible time model, that I have used more than once, thanks to the DB that likes their punctuality…
PE: Flexible working hours as well as the possibility to work in the office and remotely.

Advice for new comers
Do you have any advice for other young talents trying to choose their apprenticeship program?
MM: Try to go by your gut feeling when choosing an apprenticeship. It won´t always be easy, let me tell you that. But there is a big difference in having a short period of time where it´s just not easy, versus having a hard time all the time, because you chose a position only because you get paid a little more. Choosing a company, where you feel welcomed, can make all the difference.
PE: It's best to do various internships in different sectors and find out what interests you. Once you have found something, find out about the apprenticeship and its content. Be open to everything and don't be too shy to ask questions.
And there you have it! Just by the account of these two colleagues, it's safe to say there are different ways to approach any career opportunity, and many ways to make it work for what you want to do professionally. At All for One, you are welcome to try different things and find what best fits your skills and interests - all the while being part of a company which prioritizes your self-growth and champions a culture of respectful communication.
We thank our colleagues Markus and Pascal for their insights and look forward to their flourishing careers with the All for One!
